Production Lead

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Production Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing daily production. Working alongside the production TEAm ensuring scheduled work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.  Completes production plans by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, coaching and feedback to employees. Compliance with and adherence to all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) procedures.  Ensuring the safety and training of TEAm members, problem solving, continuous improvement, and all documentation is completed correctly. Escalating any issues to manager as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

• Work with the other employees to pack tea per the production schedule (work orders)  
• Monitors employees for all safety, quality, and productivity relevant to the production department
• Complete all assigned paperwork, including production/packaging records, GMP records, schedules and any other paperwork deemed necessary
• Establishes effective and positive communication amongst all employees
• Coordinate and monitor scheduling of the TEAm to plan and operate production efficiently
• Coordinate and conduct employee training and monitor work performance; determine need for additional training and/or ensure training completion
• Recognizing problems, being able to react and find solutions
• Supports GMP's ensuring all paperwork is filled out correctly and all tasks completed
• Effectively train and coach employees on processes and procedures
• Maintain clean and safe work environment
• Actively promote and enforce food safety and employee safety programs
• Cross training to help in other departments as needed

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with GMP
• Computer skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion
• Able to stand for full shift
• Able to climb stairs on occasion
