Marketing Manager

The Republic of Tea is looking for a Marketing Manager to work at its family vineyards and winery in Sebastopol, CA. The family-owned winery is located in the Green Valley appellation of Russian River Valley, producing wines from vineyards throughout Sonoma County.  Only local candidates will be considered.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for executing on a variety of projects including the development of marketing materials for our brand (both print and online), industry social media execution, web site updates, event deliverables, and coordination with our sales team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends and potential new channels and strategies;
• Develop specific marketing plans based on local market conditions;
• Build and manage the company's social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Instagram, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant;
• Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both our brand and our content;
• Develop campaigns and track their success;
• Develop email marketing, audio and print media;
• Track, measure, and analyze all initiatives to report on ROI;
• Establish a sustainable, strategic approach to Marketing and PR;
• Develops and supports the marketing production process to ensure distributor sales, DTC and export team's requirements are met;
• Drives the execution of a yearly marketing calendar of consumer, media and trade events;
• Responsible for sales e-mail content strategy and execution (through MailChimp);
• Develop sales education tools utilizing Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Video creation and editing tools as well other multimedia programs;
• Maintains company's website and network updates using Wordpress, basic HTML and CSS;
• PR management: editorial calendar, mailings, publication tracking, etc.;
• Manages wine samples and wine library inventory;
• Coordinates wine sample delivery for critics, events, and sales;
• Coordinates and supports hospitality and winemaking teams during tastings;
• Networks and attends other winery mixers, pour at off-site events;
• Manages the marketing budget.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Marketing experience within the wine industry a must;
• Must have completed four-year college degree in related field or equivalent;
• Eight to ten (8 - 10) years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or content marketing within the wine industry;
• Experience in the digital space, with background in content marketing, digital marketing, and social media;
• Must have effective working knowledge of social media platforms and developing campaigns within Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, etc.;
• Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Video creation and editing tools, basic HTML, CSS, Wordpress, MailChimp;
• Experience and/or passion to market in the luxury wine business;
• Experience in Graphic Design preferred.
